Jingle has returned!

Back from the North Pole, Jingle the Library Elf has returned to the Bridgewater Public Library.  Have you met Jingle?  Jingle has been known to appear in different locations, normally in the children's room and loves books and mischief.

Jingle is happy to see so many people visit the library and the children behaving themselves- no running or climbing the shelves here!

Have you seen what Jingle has been up to?  Be sure to check out Facebook for his latest appearances, but in case you missed it, here are a couple

Ideas for Thanksgiving - ways to stay entertained

Thanksgiving is a time to give thanks for all that you have and love- and that includes books!  We have created a display of children's Thanksgiving themed books for you to enjoy.  This selection includes picture books, some nonfiction books and a couple of cookbooks for those budding chefs.  This display has been very popular in the last week, so we recommend you come in soon or go online and place a hold on some books at sailsinc.org

Things to do before Thanksgiving:

It's Pizza Month!

Did you know that October is National Pizza Month?  As if you needed another reason to have pizza- why not have one to celebrate?  Grab a couple of books to read while you wait for your pizza to cook!  You can place holds online with your SAILS library card and pick them up at the library.  Search the catalog and find some great new books.

Here are a couple of pizza themed children's books.

Let's talk Halloween stories!

Are you ready for Halloween- you have a litte more than two weeks to pick out that perfect costume and buy (or buy again because you ate it all- we don't judge!) your Halloween candy.  It's also a good time to pick up Halloween DVDs and picture books.  Check out our display of Halloween books- we also have some frightfully delicious cookbooks and craft books to offer.

Here are some of our newest Halloween purchases and some old favorites.  Click on the book title to be redirected to the SAILS website

FALL in love with a new book

First day of Fall arrives this week on Wednesday, September 22.  What do you think of when you hear the word about Fall?  Do you think about pumpkins and apple picking?  Or do you think that Halloween is coming soon (that's a post for another day!)  Maybe you think about leaves- today, let's find some good books about leaves and Fall.

The pirate's life for me!

Here in the children's room, we like to think any day can be worthy of a holiday.  You will see on our calendar (available in paper version in the children's room) that we love to make note of odd, fun holidays that you might want to celebrate at home.  This month is no exception, which brings us to the display of the week "Pirates".

Be sure to come by the children's room this week to check out some of our favorite books about pirates, from the true stories of pirates to picture books about pirates.
