See you in September…for in-person programming.
We are excited to announce in person programming will be returning this month.
Getting ready for back to school
It’s almost time for back to school and the Bridgewater Public Library is here to help! We have a large selection of school themed picture books, some books to help ease your little one’s mind about going to school, school themed chapter books and ideas for school lunches.
Mindfulness
Over the last year, families have spent a lot of time together and being mindful of each other. Mindful simply means giving something your full attention and being present in the moment. You might be practicing mindfulness and not even knowing you are doing it. Examples of ways to practice mindfulness include: taking a walk, listening to nature, doing yoga, and the topic of today: journaling.
Summer reading round up!
Thank you to everyone who participated in our summer reading program Tails and Tales 2021 at the Bridgewater Public Library. We had a lot of fun this summer with take and make crafts, Virtual Princess Story Times, Virtual PJ Story Times, Henry the Juggler, Art with Corinne and Story Time with Mrs. Davis in Music Alley. It was great to see so many people here getting their library books!
Drawing and comics: Art at the library
This week, let’s highlight art.
There are a lot of examples of art in the children’s room, from our posters and framed pictures to the covers of books. Photography is a type of art and is often featured on the covers of nonfiction books. Did you see our shark display last month? There were photos of sharks on the covers of many of the books. Picture books contain a lot of artwork, mostly in the form of illustrations. Do you have a favorite picture book?& What do you like about the pictures?
August is Picnic Month!
Hello, August! Did you know that August is National Picnic Month? Now is the time to get out the blanket and picnic basket and pack up some of your favorite treats- or make some new ones. Don’t know where to start- you have come to the right place.
August is almost here- what do we have planned?
Next week is the beginning of August- can you believe it? If you haven’t signed up for Summer Reading yet, there is still time to register and enter to win some amazing prizes.
