Marching into Spring with programs!

We’ve got a lot of activities planned for March- in house programming, virtual programs, crafts and of course, new books!

 

bruins pj drivePajama Drive:

First, our Pajama Drive continues though the month.  We have partnered with Cradles to Crayons®, the Boston Bruins and the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners to collect new pajamas for local children living in low-income and homeless situations. We are looking for brand new pajamas, appropriate for all seasons, from sizes 2T through adult M. Please do not give pajamas that include any family or holiday references.

The most needed sizes are:
Girls: 5/6 (child S), 7/8 (child M), 14/16 (child XL/adult S), 18/20 (child XXL/adult M)
Boys: 7/8 (child M), 14/16 (child XL/adult S), 18/20 (child XXL/adult M)

Drop off at the Library during open hours.

 

learning treeThe Learning Tree: A Caregiver & Child Literacy Program:

The Learning Tree: A Caregiver & Child Literacy Program with Miss Nicole returns to the library on Fridays starting March 4.  You are invited to join Miss Nicole for a morning of fun educational activities designed to support your 3-5 year old's social-emotional growth and school readiness. She will provide a variety of activities including: stories, art, music, movement, and STEM too.

There are two sessions of this program, one at 9:30 AM and one at 11 AM.  Space is very limited for this program and you must register with Triumph, Inc. by calling Nancy at 508-822-5388 ext. 208. Our March Make and Take Craft will be available starting on Monday, March 7.  The theme of this craft is St. Patrick’s Day.  This craft is available while supplies last, one per child please.

 

 

 

 

 

king arthurBaking with King Arthur’s Baking Company (webinar)

Registration opens on Tuesday, March 8 for this virtual program with King Arthur’s Baking Company, which will be held on Tuesday, March 22 at 4:00 PM via ZOOM.  Registration is required for this program, which is recommended for grades 4-8 and there is a supply kit that needs to be picked up at the library.  See library website for more details.

 

 

story timeStory Time with Mrs. Davis:

Join Mrs. Davis in person on Wednesdays at 10:30 AM for stories, songs and rhymes.  This program is recommended for ages 2+.   Separate registration is required for each date.

We’re offering this popular program again on Tuesday, March 15 @ 7 PM.  This program is recommended for parents of students in elementary, middle and high school.  In a 30-minute highly dynamic, action-specific, and interactive webinar, parents are invited to learn a few tips, tools, and strategies to motivate, inspire, and support their student.

thinkfirstThinkFirst Brain and spinal cord injury prevention (webinar)

On Thursday, March 24 @ 6:30 PM, join us for a virtual program offered by the Boston Children’s Hospital.  ThinkFirst program is about brain and spinal cord injury prevention. In this program, an Injury Prevention Coordinator from Boston Children's Hospital will educate kids and teens on ways to prevent injuries to their brain and spinal cord. The topics covered in this program include bike/helmet safety, car safety, pedestrian safety and more. This program runs for an hour and you will receive a ZOOM link upon registration.
