Happy New Year 2022!

Happy New Year!

happy new year

A new year means new books- check out our new arrivals!  Our selection is always changing.  From the newest Diary of a Wimpy kid to the National Geographic series Weird but True- you never know what you are going to find in our new arrivals!  Just a reminder- you can place a hold on any of our books with your SAILS library card (pin is last 4 of your phone number).  Search the catalog and find your new book!

Winter Books:

penguin craft and books

Kick of the new year by checking out some new books at the Bridgewater Public Library.  We have changed our displays to a Winter theme, with a large selection of books about winter, snow, and animals.

This week, we also have a special table set up with penguin books and this month’s “Take and Make Craft”, which features a penguin.  We ask that you only take one craft per child and please note the crafts are only available while supplies last.

Reading Program:

For the month of January, we are having a Winter Reading Program for all ages “Reading is SNOW much fun!”.  This program runs from January 1 thru January 31 and we are once again using Beanstack to track this program.  Continue to log your reading minutes to earn badges & the chance to win prizes. For each 2 hours you read, you will receive one snowflake badge. Each snowflake badge will give you a ticket.  Use tickets to enter contests. Everyone who completes the Winter Reading Challenge (read all four weeks for 120 minutes each week) will be eligible to enter tickets for a chance to win a signed Bruins hockey stick. Parents, you can read to your kids and log for them- ebooks and audiobooks count as well!

Each week, readers (ages 0-12) who earned a badge for that period (Sunday-Saturday) will be eligible to win a pack of books. For more information and to register for the program, visit Beanstack.  If you have previously participated in our Beanstack program, you can log in with the same credentials as before.

Mask Mandate:

Per the town of Bridgewater, effective Monday, January 3, 2022, visitors to the Bridgewater Public Library will be required to wear a mask.
